Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) Tests & Therapy
We specialize in assessing and treating Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) sometimes referred to as Central Auditory Processing (CAP) using the trusted Buffalo Model, developed by Dr. Jack Katz. This approach allows us to identify specific auditory processing difficulties and create targeted therapy programs.
Our APD services include:
Comprehensive case history and listening profile review
Standardized Buffalo Model Assessment and Therapy
Identification of APD subtypes (e.g., decoding, tolerance-fading memory, integration)
Individualized auditory therapy sessions to strengthen listening, decoding, memory, and comprehension skills
Home-based strategies and school support plans to improve daily communication and academic success
Earmold Impressions
Earmold impressions are a quick and gentle process used to create custom-fit hearing and ear protection devices. After a careful ear examination, a soft silicone material is placed in the ear for a few minutes to capture an accurate mould of the ear canal.
Custom earmold impressions are used for:
Hearing aid earmolds for children and adults
Custom hearing aid shells (ITE, ITC, CIC devices)
Pediatric earmolds, which require regular updates as children grow
Swim plugs and noise protection, including musician and occupational earplugs
Earwax Removal
Blocked ears can affect hearing, cause discomfort, and interfere with hearing aid use. We offer safe and gentle wax removal using professional techniques.
Our process includes:
Otoscopic examination to determine blockage
Manual or irrigation-based cerumen removal (only when safe and appropriate)
Post-removal hearing screening if needed
